My style of counselling is best described as an Integrative Person Centred approach, with an emphasis on Attachment. I believe strongly in the importance of the relationship between the client and counsellor. I am non-directive, non-judgemental and without agenda. I believe the client is the expert on the client. I am not!
I offer care, support and understanding; acceptance and empathy; space and time; an opportunity to be authentic.
I will maintain boundaries, and work within the BACP professional ethical framework. I will treat all information you share with me as confidential unless I am required by law to reveal it. I will attend regular professional supervision. This involves discussing my counselling work with a more experienced practitioner. I may reflect on the content of our sessions in anonymity. This is for the benefit of both you and me, to ensure the maximum benefit and effectiveness.
