Counselling provides an opportunity for self-exploration and discovery.
It is a space to look at relationships and ways of being. A chance to consider
- What do I want?
- How would I like to be?
- Can it be different?
- What is the cost of staying the same/ of change?
It can give an opportunity to explore losses in a safe and confidential setting.
‘The overall aim of counselling is to provide an opportunity for the client to work towards living in a way which he or she experiences as more satisfying and resourceful… The counsellor’s role is to facilitate the client’s work in ways which respect the client’s values, personal resources and capacity for choice within his or her cultural context’.
